Mt Hood Holiday Shopping
The Heart of the Mountain
Celebrates its 15th Holiday Season on Mt. Hood
Susie Welch opened her home décor, accessories and gift shop The Heart of the Mountain in 1992. Fifteen years later, visitors continue to find a rich variety of home accessories that carry a sense of Old World style or a complementary, sophisticated mountain style. These styles are blended artfully by Susie in an elegantly rustic shop that exudes a sense of timelessness.
You can experience it all at Susie’s 15th Annual Open House, Saturday, November 11, 2006, Noon to 5 pm at her shop on Highway 26, just west of Welches, Oregon.
The Heart of the Mountain draws return customers from around the state and southwest Washington who come for her comforters, pillow shams, and throws. They come for her ever varying selection of lamps, mirrors, prints, candle holders, picture frames and other décor items.
Indeed, there are special items for every corner of a home. Susie’s customers also come for the more unique table ware, table linens and specialty serving dishware. While there, they can also find essentials for the kitchen, including a line of cooking ware and utensils, occasional special wines, sauces and seasonings.
And there are intriguing discoveries to be made in personal items such as jewelry and watches, handbags, hats, scarves. And there is always an assortment of gift items such as music, stationery and more.
Perhaps most of all people are drawn back again and again by Susie’s unerring sense of seasonal styles to dress a home for Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, Spring and Summer. Every season brings new style that can be seen in her eclectic assembly of décor, accessories and gifts.
