MT HOOD SHOPPING
Spot on the Mountain
A Pet's Favorite Place to Shop in the Villages of Mt Hood
When you bring Fido or Fluffy with you on your Mt Hood Vacation, why not treat him to an out-of-the-ordinary shopping spree at Spot on the Mountain, a specialty pet store in The Rendezvous Center in Wemme. Mary Pennicooke, an animal lover, opened Spot on the Mountain with her favorite furry friends in mind. Humans are permitted to browse through the store with their pets — that way you are sure to select the perfect item.

Spot on the Mountain specializes in gourmet all natural food and treats, fun toys, pet care products, gifts for pet lovers, plus all the necessities like collars, leashes and food bowls. The store motto says it all, “The spot to find health and fun for pets and their people.”
Lucas Magoo, the store’s mascot is a 3-legged dachshund/poodle mix (yes, he looks a little silly, but that is what makes him so cute), who was rescued from a shelter. Don’t be fooled by the missing appendage — Lucas gets around just fine and will be sure to greet you at the door.
Two other specialty gift shops share space with Spot on the Mountain. Connie Grenfell sells her hand-crafted art and curios for the garden in her shop, CSG Paints & Garden Structures. Connie opened her garden boutique to provide an outlet for selling her metal art creations, which include trellises, arbors, unusual yard art and wind chimes. Be sure to check out the 8-foot tall moss and twig lion.
Poshy Boutique is a funky clothing store for women with style and flair. Proprietress, Jing Moore doesn’t like boring clothes for herself, so she decided to open a boutique for other women who like to be creative when they get dressed. The dresses, tops, jackets, scarves and other apparel are made of silk, velvet and other fancy fabrics and sport lots of lace, ruffles, sequins and other fun items. There is also a great selection of eclectic jewelry.
