Cloud Cap Inn Tours with Crag Rats Mountain Rescue Organization & Hood River Ranger District of Mt Hood National Forest. Interpretive tours of this historic building, discover its unique history and enjoy the surrounding majesty of Mt Hood. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 100-year old Cloud Cap Inn originally served as a unique mountain retreat and is now used as a search and rescue base for the Hood River Crag Rats. Trillium Lake Campfire Programs. It's Story Time. Bring the whole family and join Forest Service Interpreters for an evening of fellowship & fun, stories, legends & prizes. Meet at the Campground Amphitheatre, 7:00pm - 8:00pm.

Summit to Surf, Tour de Cure Bike Ride around Mt Hood from Welches to Hood River. Join us for Oregon and SW Washington's Tour de Cure (Summit to Surf), the nationwide bicycling event held in more than 80 cities nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Timberline Mountain Music Series, Free Music to the People! Get this on your calendars now! Live folk & bluegrass music at the Timberline Lodge historic outdoor amphitheater. Our amphitheater was just renovated last summer and is a wonderful venue for enjoying great summertime music. Featured bands include Jackstraw, Misty River, Barbeque Orchestra, Tom May & David Rea, and Kate Power & Steve Einhorn. Shows start at 2:30pm, weather permitting.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 4
Mt Hood Climbing Expo in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt Hood. A free family event; learn the history of Climbing Mt Hood in the Amphitheatre at Timberline. Second Annual Forest Service Junior Forest Ranger Day at Mt Hood SkiBowl West. Join the Forest Service and SkiBowl for a day full of activities and fun for the whole family. Young people can take part in becoming a U.S. Forest Service Junior Forest Ranger by participating in fun and interactive activities. Meet Smokey Bear and a Forest Service Fire Engine Crew. Interpretive and educational activities planned throughout the day so bring your friends and family and expect to have wonderful time! Free admission. 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Mt Hood's Steiner Cabins Lecture and Tour. Explore some of the hidden and treasured cabins of Mt Hood built by master craftsmen Henry Steiner and his sons John & Fred. 94-year old John Steiner will be on hand to greet tour participants and to share a story or two. 10am, $15, pre-registration required. 503-272-3301

4th Annual Crawdad Festival at the Skyway Bar and Grill. This celebration started a long time ago as a gathering of family and friends. In addition to the 300 pounds of crawdads that will be cooked over the weekend, the family will be barbequing ribs, burgers, chicken, and more. Live Music at the Tartan's Steakhouse & Pub, a great place to enjoy a delicious meal, listen to live music and spend a fun, laid-back time at the bar. As you drink and dine, simply sit back and listen to our live music! All show times are at 8pm. Dance to rock n' roll band Bob Voll & the Too Loose Band.

Hood to Coast Relay: As the largest running relay race in the world, The Hood To Coast Relay stretches 197 miles from the top of Oregon's majestic Mt. Hood down to the beautiful Pacific Ocean in Seaside, Oregon. Over 12,000 runners and 4,800 walkers in Portland to Coast, share in the experience of this annual event now in its 26th year!
