Fall Color Hike
for the Whole Family

to Little Zig Zag Falls

The perfect relaxing walk during the fall months is to Little Zig Zag Falls.  Just 7/10 mile round trip, the smooth, wide path traces the Little Zig Zag River upstream through a narrow canyon.

The sounds of birdsong and gurgling waters serenade you during your peaceful walk under a canopy of evergreen and deciduous trees.  You are surrounded by multiple shades of greens, golds and red-oranges as the leaves on the trees change color announcing the change in season.

At the falls, you can rest on a hand-hewn log bench placed as a memorial to a local family member.  To get to the trailhead, drive 4 miles east of Rhododendron on Hwy 26.  Turn left or north on the Kiwanis Camp Road (also known as FS Rd 39); drive to the end.
