Around Mt Hood, 12 Months - 12 Directions: Local artist, Sue Allen's series of 12 screenprints showing the sides and seasons of Mount Hood with the pictures, stats and stories that led to the creation of this work of art. Exhibited in the Dining Room hallway towards the conference center at Timberline Lodge.

SATURDAY, MARCH 1
Rainbow Trout Farm opens for the season. You catch trout fishing. "Fresh mountain air, tall trees, green meadows and mirror smooth ponds full of fat, sassy rainbow trout. The only thing missing is you." 7 days a week, 8:00am - dusk.

Ladies Night at Mt Hood SkiBowl. Ladies ski or ride from 3pm - 10pm for just $13 every Tuesday at Mt. Hood Skibowl. Not that's a sweet deal. Be sure to stop by the Guest Services counter and Enter to Win a pair of Atomic Sugar Mama skis that will be given away at the end of the season.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22
Suds on the Slopes at Mt Hood SkiBowl. The ultimate Spring Break Event. Ride all morning, then stop by the base and sample northwest microbrews and listen to live music. Then, stick around for the action as local skiers and riders launch themselves into a icy pond in a display of their mountain prowess. Whatever floats you boat.... Make sure to check out the Vertical Challenge, a big mountain event, where you have to pick the best and styliest way down the face of the mountain.

Live Jazzy Blues Music at The Roasters. Mary Flower, renowned blues artist, is one of the nation's premier finger-style blues guitartists, a first rate finger picker. Mary straddles the line between blues and jazz. 7:00 - 11:00pm

SUNDAY, MARCH 23
Easter Brunch at Still Creek Inn in Rhododendron. Special plated menu for Easter. For reservations: 503-622-4618

Pacrat Race at Timberline. It’s about having fun in the snow, improving your skills, and enjoying the company of 9 team-mates. You ski with them, race with them, and party with them at the end of the day!

Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch at Timberline. Early in the morning the Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs at Timberline Lodge. Rumor has it that this festive bunny has taken up skiing, so we may be searching the slopes for eggs, too! Enjoy a special brunch in the Lodge afterwards. 503-272-3267 for reservations.

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, MARCH 25-27

3 Day Holiday KidsCamp at Mt Hood Meadows – Skiing (age 4 – 12) and Snowboarding (age 7 – 12). 3-day camps provide kids with a great way to play on the snow. Kids will be put in the same group with the same instructor for three consecutive days providing an excellent opportunity to make friends and bond with the instructor. You’ll be amazed at the progress your child can make skiing or riding 3 straight days.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28
Wine Tasting at Andrea's Wine Gallery. Sample a variety of blended red wines. Flight of 6 for $10. 5:30-7:30pm. Enjoy a Fireside Chat next door right after the wine tasting.

Fireside Chat with Julie Hightman, jewelry artist and holistic therapist at Wy'East Book Shoppe & Art Gallery. Be enlightened by the wonders of Mother Earth. Learn how to empower yourself and be inspired by the nurturing characteristics of natural materials. 7:30pm right after the wine tasting next door.

SATURDAY, APRIL 5
Fiber Arts Class at The Arts Cabins in Government Camp. Embellishing Fiber with Felting Needles workshop is an introduction to felting needles as an embellishment and fiber painting tool. You will learn how to create artistic layers on a background of pre felted fabric. The process can be applied to felted, knitted or woven backgrounds enabling you to transform any project into a unique piece of art. You will receive step by step instruction, helpful hints and some hard learned secrets about the use of felting needles. Needle felting is an extremely forgiving process and the simplicity of the tool is amazing. Class fee: $55 per person. 10am till 4pm. Includes all fiber materials, two felting needles and instruction. Students should bring a large (minimum 4" X 6") sponge or small piece of foam for a work surface. Class size limited to 12.

SUNDAY, APRIL 6
Fiber Arts Class at The Arts Cabins in Government Camp. Needle Felting Sculpture Workshop, An introduction to felting needles as a three dimensional sculpting tool. You will learn how to transform carded batts of wool and various bits of color and curl into a fanciful sculpture. You will receive step by step instruction. At the end of the session you will have a unique felt friend and the skills to create many more. Needle felting is a extremely forgiving process and the simplicity of the tool is amazing. Class fee: $55 per person. 10am till 4pm. Includes all fiber materials, two felting needles and instructions. Students should bring a large sponge (minimum 4" X 6") or small piece of foam for a work surface. Limit per class: 12 students.

Vegetate 2008 at Mt Hood Meadows. Freestyle skiing, snowboarding and music celebration to commemorate the revegetation efforts for which Meadows has received national recognition and awards. Presented by Salomon and Full Sail Brewing.

Bike Jam at Mt Hood Meadows – Freestyle mountain bikers pedal into a snow jump and grab big air right in the base area (Sunday, April 13 weather optional day)

Apres Ski Wine Tasting at Mt Hood Cultural Center & Museum. Meet your friends after a day of skiing to taste wine and see the exhibits. 3-6pm. 503-272-3301.

Blacksmithing Classes at The Arts Cabins in Government Camp. Learn the art of blacksmithing from professionals who have created many outstanding works in the Northwest and the nation. Many hand forged items are on display in the studio for sale to the public. Talk with the blacksmiths about any custom architectural features or items you may need. Class is two hours. $60 per class. Limited to 4 students per day. Classes can be scheduled from 10AM through 4PM. You are welcome to observe the blacksmiths as they work. BoneZone Series II at Timberline. Multi-day banked slalom event is held in the legendary BoneZone Terrain Park-a natural gully filled with berms, banks and log slides.

MONDAY-SATURDAY, APRIL 14-19th

Eco-Challenge event  featuring 10 models competing in a 200+ mile race from Mt Hood to Astoria, ending on Earth Day weekend. On April 14th, the girls will be racing down Mt Hood on genuine Ferrari 36speed racers and for the next few days, alternate between these racers and performance kayaks, all the while delivering eco-awareness to current eco issues that directly effect us presently here locally in the northwest. The race ends at the Columbia River Maritime Museum with a regatta of supporting kayakers and boaters on Saturday April 19th. SATURDAY & SUNDAY, APRIL 26 & 27
Sno-Kona Pond Skim at Mt Hood Meadows presented by Kona Brewing and All About Hawaii Travel. Skiers and snowboarders “skim” across a water filled pond right in front of the base area deck. Best judged skimmer wins a trip for two to Hawaii! (Event may be held on either Saturday or Sunday depending on weather).
