MT HOOD MASSAGE
Say Hello to Mt Hood
and Renew Yourself for Spring
Revitalizing Spa Services in
the
Villages of Mt Hood
Up on the mountain, green things are sprouting and flowers are blooming. Spring is here, and that means renewal. Don’t you deserve to bloom too? Think about renewing your health and energy with the spa services available in The Villages of Mt. Hood. You can enjoy professional pampering and emerge refreshed in the fresh air and gentle pace of mountain life.
A relaxing, healing massage is a place to start. Jani Whitacre and Rachelle Closner share a massage studio at Welches’ Hoodland Plaza, where they provide Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage services. If you’re expecting, Rachelle is also certified in pregnancy massage. Rachelle adds that they’re flexible and readily available 7 days a week in the warm-colored, quiet studio. They will also travel to your home for a more personal experience. That means you really can find time for a massage!
Jonathan Lohnes can help you not only with Swedish and relaxation massages, but with Myofascial and soft tissue release. These break up muscle adhesions and are effective for pain relief and increased range of motion. Though his office is now in Gresham, he lives in The Villages, and provides onsite massage at homes and lodgings when opportunity permits. Just a note: Thursdays can be busy for Jonathan, as that’s the day he’s volunteer massage therapist for the Oregon Ballet Theater – a task that uses his specialty training to the utmost!
Karen Hangsterfer has 16 years of experience, and offers a wide selection of massage therapies including Swedish, acupressure, Intuitive Energy Work, Thai, and table work onsite.
Mario Messina-Azekri’s services extend from massage therapies and foot reflexology to hypnosis and relaxation techniques, craniosacral therapy, and chakra cleansing and rebalancing, to name a few. His practice exists “to help people lead a better life free of pain and discomfort,” he professes, and he’s looking forward to developing his Rhododendron location’s services even further.
Karlee Meng specializes in injury recovery, and provides sports healing and deep tissue massage for that purpose as well as relaxing Swedish massage.
She works with Designers Hair Center, providing her services to the salon’s full range. The salon (owned by Karlee’s mother, Sherrie Meng) offers everything from manicures and pedicures and artificial nails to tanning and all hair services: color, cuts, perms, and weaving. Some members of the staff at Designers have over 30 years of experience, including Myke Jagow, who has served as President of the National Cosmetology Association of Oregon. She mentions that Designers Hair Center enjoys their membership in the community and the activities and fundraisers in which they’ve taken part over the years. Not least, she adds, they value the loyalty of their clientele both long-standing and recent. If you are planning a wedding, Designers specializes in full beauty days for the bridal party.
Kelli Savage at Maison Hair Salon provides haircuts, color, styling and perms, nails and hand treatments, waxing and makeup services in the privacy of your own home. Little extras are a big part of her services, such as a scalp massage before haircuts and color, and the hand massage and hot towel treatments with highlights and color.
The Spa at Whispering Waters, located adjacent to The Resort at the Mountain in Welches, specializes in skin and body treatments and make-up. Their signature facial is 90 minutes of “Beauty from the Sea” using seaweed-based products. Other wonderful services include a jojoba oil scalp and neck massage, a “Champagne and Rose” Butter Cream body wrap, and an exfoliant “Cinnamon and Sugar Self-Heated Body Treatment.”
The Villages of Mt Hood offer plenty of choices, and a multitude of opportunities to greet the spring with a refreshed new you.
