MT HOOD LODGING
Enjoy Your Family Reunion at Mt Hood
Perfect for Everyone - Indoors or Out
Summer’s a good time to get the whole family together – grandparents, aunts and uncles, and second cousins twice removed. Can’t fit them in your house? There’s room at The Villages of Mt. Hood. Whether you’re looking for a day of cookouts, games and fresh air, or a weekend stay over with fine lodging and dining, The Villages are easy to reach and even easier to enjoy.
Formal Gatherings
For stately family occasions, consider the Resort at the Mountain. Luxurious guest rooms are available for out-of-town relatives. A large variety of event spaces can be reserved for rent, and holding from 30 to over 400 folks.
Bountiful Banquets
The Lions Club in Welches with a huge commercial kitchen and seating for 250 can be rented for your big feast.
Room for Everyone
Looking for a more outdoorsy group stay? There are many vacation rental options to choose from rustic cabins to grand lodges to golf course condos. At the Whispering Woods Resort condos in Welches, you’ll find accommodations of up to two bedrooms plus loft, holding up to eight. The resort grounds also provide a pool, hot tub and sauna, a kids’ playground, and tennis courts and golf for the grownups.
Family Fun
If you feel more like staying in a secluded mountain cabin, contact one of the many vacation rental companies in the Villages of Mt Hood. You could be spending time in a fully-furnished riverside cabin that includes a kitchen, fireplace plus many other amenities. Imagine a family BBQ on the deck surrounded by tall evergreen trees and mountain views. Several are pet friendly, so your family dog will be able to join the reunion, too!
Resort Get-Togethers
Got a home away from home on wheels? Even if other family members don’t, you can all stay at Mt. Hood Village RV Resort. There are 440 wooded hook-up sites (including water & sewer, electricity, cable TV & WiFi) for your home on wheels. Or your entire family can reserve the group camping site or spread out in individual tent sites. And there are 20 fully-appointed, privately owned cottages for rent. If some relatives want to get closer to simple mountain living, there are even rustic cabins with four bunks each and access to comfort stations. Remind them to bring sleeping bags and pillows! There is also a convenience store, fitness center and swimming pool available at the resort. The luxury resort has banquet facilities available or you can hire the chef at Wildwood Café to cater your meals.
If you’re planning your reunion getaway very early or very late in the summer, the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp has large lodges with kitchens. The camp is also available in the fall, winter and spring,, and there is an option to have meals provided if you’d rather not be cooking. Maximum lodging capacity is 120; individual lodges hold from 21 to 44. You can walk to hiking and biking trails from the lodge, too.
Reunions in the Great Outdoors
Looking for a special outdoor location for your main reunion gathering? Make it count at Wildwood Park. May through September, this day use facility offers lots of room for fun on over 500 acres. A stretch of the Salmon River runs alongside, and paths include two scenic loops about a mile long – perfect for a quiet walk to catch up with someone. There are picnic sites with tables, most with barbeques or fire pits; picnic shelters and kitchens; and a playground for little ones. Or you can rent one of the shelters for the day; they include running water, cooktops, fireplaces and picnic tables for up to 75 people. With hiking, biking, softball, volleyball, the kid’s playground and shady pavilions along the meandering trails, there is something for everyone in the family to do. There’s a $5 per car access fee, and the park closes at sunset.
Now all you need to do is find your spot and start inviting the family. Why put off gathering all together one summer more? We make it simple for you in The Villages of Mt. Hood.
