Mt Hood Coffee Roasting Tour

coffeeEver wonder how a hard little nut grown in faraway tropical lands becomes the rich and flavorful cup of dark morning brew you can’t seem to live without each day?  During your visit to the Villages of Mt Hood, you can take a free tour of Mt Hood Roasters coffee roasting facility to learn how it all happens.  You’ll enjoy an interactive experience featuring:

  • The coffee bean story: from cherry to gourmet coffee
  • Hands-on coffee roasting opportunity
  • The history of Oregon’s tie to WW11 coffee and air roasting
  • Free coffee tasting

You can drop in anytime for an abbreviated tour or call ahead to schedule a full tour.  Operating hours are Monday thru Saturday, 9am to 4pm.

Mt Hood Roasters is a family owned and operated gourmet coffee roastery based in Rhododendron, Oregon.  They air roast only 100% Arabica beans in small, controlled 10 pound batches to insure consistent quality.

For the java aficionado, consider spending the night at the Coffee Cabin next door to the roasting shop.  This cozy cabin is completely furnished and only minutes from every activity imaginable on Mt. Hood.  Wake up in the morning to a pot of fresh roasted coffee...take a walk on the historical pioneer Barlow Trail...slip next to Still Creek and watch the salmon spawn...and realize that it is only 8am.  You still have the rest of the day to enjoy all of the activities the Villages of Mt Hood have to offer.
