Mt Hood Outdoor Supplies

Year-round Outdoor Gear

trailWarm weather’s almost here, and that’s prime time to get outside and have some fun.  Make sure you’ve got the right stuff to keep you comfortable and safe with outdoor supplies from The Villages of Mt. Hood.  Want some new gear to freshen up your playtime?  You’ll find everything from golf clubs to waders to swimwear to camping gear and all the comfortable sportswear you need to compliment with your outdoor adventure.

Golfing Supplies

For golfers enjoying a golf vacation at The Resort at the Mountain, you can pick up equipment, shoes, and apparel at The Resort’s Three Nines Pro Shop.  You’ll find golf wear from the traditional to the latest style, including Adidas, Greg Norman, and Fairway and Greene.  For women, there’s also Jamie Saddock and EP Pro apparel in stock.

Fly Fishing Equipment

If you’d rather be in the water than on the green, The Fly Fishing Shop can kit you out in everything from lanyards to luggage, and headlamps to hook sharpeners.  They have flotation vests, the Simms line of specialty fishing apparel and waders, and waterproof bags.  You can pick up a reel case, or a fresh microfiber towel.  They also, as it happens, have flies – several thousand varieties in stock.  Check out their website for their next free tie-flying class.

Snow & Trail Gear

hikingMountain Sports has just put the ski/snowboard gear into storage and has restocked the shop with warm weather gear for the season.  You’ll find mountain bike rentals, parts, and supplies, inflatable canoes, and a selection of tents along with all of your other camping needs.  Backpacking tents have just arrived at Mountain Sports, so you can have shelter on your overnight summer hikes.  They also stock about every hiking supply you need, so you’ve got the perfect spot to pick up a compass, maps, and Forest passes along with your backpacking food and fresh hiking socks.  For those looking simply for something new to wear while playing outside, there’s footwear, clothing, fleeces and sunglasses from favorite brands such as Teva, Life is Good, Da Kine, and White Sierra.  You can also pick up your daily fishing license at Mountain Sports.

Mt Hood Guide Books

Now that you’re all geared up, where are you going to go?  You can check for local guidebooks at Wy’East Book Shoppe and Art Gallery.  There you’ll also find local author Sonia Buist’s hiking guide Around Mt. Hood in Easy Stages.  Stop in at Made on Mt Hood for the very popular “50 Virtual Hikes on Mt Hood” DVD.  Not only is the DVD filled with detailed information of the 50 hikes, it is also sprinkled with plenty of beautiful scenic photos of the hikes that are sure to entice you to head outside.  You can even preview the DVD on a TV screen in the shop.

For the last word on the best places to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, check with the Mt. Hood National Forest’s Zigzag Ranger Station Regional Visitor Center.  They have maps, guidebooks, forest passes and all the very latest recreation info on closings, openings, and best spots.

At Mt Hood, the weather changes seasonally and sometimes even from day to day.  But what if you’ve forgotten your hat or need an inexpensive rain slicker or some extra sunscreen?  Pick up an emergency cap and sweatshirt and all of your sun protection items at Mt. Hood Food and General in Rhododendron or Thriftway in Welches.

Come right up to The Villages of Mt Hood for your outdoor adventures.  You don’t need to go far for your supplies – they’re all right here.
