Mt Hood Shopping

Shops Full of Mt Hood Memories

Where to Find Mt Hood T-Shirts, Gifts & Treasures

Vacations give you reasons to smile long after you’ve returned home.  Picking up a little something on your travels is a great way to keep those getaway memories fresh or share them with someone.  Whether you’d like a useful sweatshirt, a tasty treat, or the perfect artwork for your wall, the Villages of Mt. Hood have a souvenir waiting to come home with you.

At The Resort at the Mountain’s gift shop you’ll find fashion apparel with state and local area logos as well as some with The Resort’s name.  Perhaps you’ll choose from the shop’s postcards of vintage area photographs, or a pin or pair of earrings made from hand-tied fishing flies.  Your littlest travelers may like to snuggle up to a stuffed toy beaver, bear or moose, or be tucked under a genuine Pendleton blanket.  There’s a wide range of special local gifts for every taste.

wyeast oregon booksWould a book be the perfect way to remember your stay?  Wy’East Book Shoppe and Art Gallery carries travel books by local authors.  Many copies are autographed.  If you’d treasure a piece of artwork made in the area, there are many lovely creations to delight you.  You’ll find fine art photography of the area, silkscreen prints, original paintings, and nature-themed pottery.  There’s even a full-service computer center in case you need to write home and ask what someone would like!

made on mt hoodMade on Mt. Hood provides additional opportunities to find the perfect souvenir of the mountain and The Villages.  You can pick up a hand-carved walking stick, or jewelry to wear for a special occasion or everyday.  Candles and soap will bring a little of the mountain to your house, as will the screenprints and limited edition prints of the area’s visual artists.  Wood furnishings by mountain craftsmen are also available.  And everything is hand-made by local artisans and crafters.

oregon giftsFor a good old standard key chain imprinted with “Mt Hood” or “Oregon”, drop by Hoodland Thriftway.  There are even more traditional mementoes at Mt. Hood Village RV Resort’s gift shop, such as state magnets, shot glasses, placemats, and lots of other collectible and fun items.  Mountain Sports offers kid and adult sized hats, sweatshirts and Ts with “Mt. Hood” and “Oregon” logos.  They’re expanding their selection daily, so drop by and see what’s new.

Mountain Air Miniature Golf has T’s and hats bearing their logo, so you can remember that hole-in-one at the topiary bear or the fun the kids had panning for Fools’ Gold (see Recreation story this issue).

Do you wish you could bring home some wildlife?  You can at the Gallery at Alder Creek, where welcoming bears carved from area timber are waiting to come and stand outside your door.  If you’d rather have a wooden moose or simply a carved tree, the Gallery has those and more.

You can also savor your trip with flavor from The Villages.  Pick up some soft, buttery Donna Jean’s Carmels, made from scratch down the street in Brightwood, available at Mt.Hood Foods, Mt. Hood Village RV Park, and Wy’East Book Shop and Art Gallery.  Mt. Hood Roasters is renovating their retail shop and will be reopening with new things by July’s end, including their small-batch roasted coffees both whole bean and oregon wineground.  Pick up a bag and bring home flavors of the mountain to your morning.

If evening is when you relax and reflect, why not stop by Andrea’s Wine Gallery at the Rendezvous Shopping Center?  This attractive new shop carries vintages from all over the world, but has a large selection from pioneering Oregon winemakers, such as Erath, Ponzi, and Sokol Blosser.

Every trip is different and you never know what will tickle your fancy.  Whatever your favorite way to remember, there’s a perfect souvenir for you every time here in the Villages of Mt. Hood.
