MT HOOD RECREATION

Ready, Set, TUBE!mthood tubing

Or, How To Burn Off Cheeseburgers

Skibowl’s tubing Adventure Park sets the stage for exciting weekends of fun with family and friends.

Early Saturday morning, geared up in our snow pants, we headed off to Mount Hood to check out the tubing experience at Skibowl, located on the east side of their Tubing Adventure Park.

Turning left, we headed through Government camp and continued forward, looking for the next sign that would point us in the direction towards our tubing adventure. We crossed over the bridge and could see the fun ahead of us.  The hustle and bustle of family and friends surrounded us as we collected our parking pass and tickets to tube!

We grabbed our tubes and enjoyed the view of Timberline to the right hovering above the trees and camp. Eager to race down on our tubes we decided to skip the towrope line and get to the top by walking.  Holding our leash we waited patiently.  Ready, set, go – we pushed off with our feet and raced down the hill.  For the next two hours we continued to enjoy the beautiful day at Skibowl’s Tubing Adventure Park. Soon after we embarked in some refreshments at the snack bar and started our descent home.  Next time we’ll have to check out the more adventurous upper tube hill with even steeper runs…

The Shack Attack!

Hunger set in, on our descent.  I couldn’t go home without stopping at The Shack restaurant in Welches for a delicious bacon cheeseburger with fries - it is a must after a day on the mountain.

I love The Shack! The prices are perfect and the staff and customers always make me feel at home.  A 50” big screen TV above the bar entertained us with The Dew Tour and sports.  Kids are welcome in part of the restaurant which includes a game room with pool, pinball and air hockey.
