Hot Tubbing at Mt. Hood Resort Condominiums
Imagine you and your girlfriends on a weekend condo getaway, with mountain scenery by day and stars by the hundreds at night. Now add to that an outdoor deck with a hot tub, a historic golf course in the back yard and a day spa next door, and you’re ready to be Bruce and Michele Dunn’s guests at Mt. Hood Resort Condos.
The Dunns manage over a dozen of the condos, which range from two to three bedrooms and can easily house 6 to 10 guests; book early if you want one with a hot-tub. When you arrive you’ll find all the comforts of home: a wood burning fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom for each bedroom stocked with fresh, fluffy towels and rugs. Throw in cable TV, high-speed internet and a washer and dryer, and your get-together won’t miss a beat: catch all your favorite shows, freshen up your travel clothes, and keep in touch with everyone back home (if you dare!). Don’t want to use the kitchen? There are a dozen local restaurants within 2 miles of the condos.
Better yet, the beautiful new spa at The Resort at The Mountain will be your closest neighbor. “It is probably less than 40 steps from the Spa to your front door,” Michele Dunn says. Guests of Mt. Hood Resort Condos get a 20% discount on all services at the Spa, and can stroll back afterward in their slippers to finish up with a long soak in their private outdoor hot tub.
Right now, the chill of winter and early spring makes for a delicious contrast with a hot, gently bubbling tub. If you’re lucky and arrive on a snowy day, you can experience a particular delight of Bruce and Michele’s.
“Our absolute favorite time,” Bruce says, “. . .is when the moon transforms fresh snow into sparkling wonderland! The pristine view of the snow-covered golf course, flocked trees and mountains leaves you with a serene feeling of ‘Ahhh . . . Life is good.’”
Even if all your schedules are booked till the warmer months, the view from the hot tub is worth the trip: The Resort at The Mountain’s 27-hole golf course is quiet and serene and is framed by the pristine Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness Area of the Mt. Hood National Forest. Complete tranquility surrounds you. In fact that’s something Michele Dunn specially notes when asked what she loves best about living in The Villages and running the condos: the peacefulness and low hustle and bustle against a backdrop of awesome views and friendly neighbors.
“You can ski in the a.m.,” says Michele, “golf in the p.m., and hot tub at night – it’s the best of all possible worlds.” It’s easy to see the Dunns have found a cozy slice of paradise they’d like to share. So plan to get yourself and your girls into some hot water soon!

The 44,600 acre Salmon-Huckleberry consists of steep, forested ridges and valleys located 55 miles southeast of Portland and about 15 miles southeast of Sandy.
Created by the 1984 Oregon Wilderness Act this area is the headwaters of the Salmon River, a major contributory to the Sandy River. While few open peaks such as Old Baldy and Huckleberry Mountain offer panoramic vistas, more typical of the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness is dense forest carpeting steep ridges and canyons, offering a feeling of quiet isolation. In some canyon bottoms, small portions of towering old growth forests remain. Many unusual rock formations, such as prominent cliffs, volcanic dikes, and pinnacles add to the scenery.
