DECEMBER 1, 2009 - MARCH 31, 2010
Windells Camp Open Skate. Visiting the mountain, bring your family and ride Mt. Hood’s only indoor skate park and see where the pros train. Windells private skate park is open for public use; ramps, foam pit and super trampoline for starters. Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian for first visit and liability waiver. JANUARY 22 – FEBRUARY 20
Sandy Actors Theatre (behind ACE Hardware in Heritage Square, Sandy) presenting “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940.” A hilarious whodunit. The Stage Door Slasher brought an end to one musical comedy on Broadway. Now the creative team responsible has gathered in a New York mansion to try again. . . and so has the Slasher. Klutz Party, ‘Origami’, 1 – 3 pm, Wy’east Book Shoppe & Art Gallery. Use the Klutz Origami book of simple and satisfying origami folds as inspiration to create everything from an exotic parrot to a beautiful star box to a hopping frog that really hops! Free Fly Tying Party at The Fly Fishing Shop. Innovative northwest steelhead, salmon, and angler Charles St. Pierre has created several unique series of steelhead/salmon flies using a blend of natural and synthetic fly tying materials that combines a large silhouette with amazing lifelike action. Charles is much sought after as a spey casting instructor, and a member of the Sage pro staff. 1st Annual Crab Feed with live music by Celtic Pride. This lively fundraising event is presented by the Hoodland Women’s Club which does good things through scholarships, volunteerism and assistance to the local community. Bring the whole family! No host bar. Tickets are $20 and are available at Wy’east Book Shoppe & Art Gallery, Clackamas County Bank, Welches Liquor Store and at the door. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20th
Nymph Fishing Workshop with Rick Hafele and Dave Hughes at the Fly Fishing Shop. Rick covers nymph rigging and tactics to suit all of the situations you might ever encounter in nymphing: on streams and rivers, spring creeks and tailwaters, lakes and ponds. Learn to choose the right rig, and fish the right method, to catch trout from whatever water you find yourself fishing. Dave covers nymph pattern selection, with emphasis on an essential box of searching nymphs, another of imitative nymphs, and a third for stillwater situations. You’ll learn about the insects and other trout foods that nymphs imitate. You’ll learn to select the right nymph, or pair of them, to suit the situation and please the trout. 10am - 4pm. Mt Hood Ghost Conference, April 23-25. A unique conference about “things that go bump in the night”. The paranormal, history, folklore, and science blends together in this very unique Spring conference that is suitable for the entire family. This is the only gathering of this sort reportedly ever known to take place on Mount Hood and this should prove to be both an educational and entertaining experience. Free Fly Tying Party May 2 - 1:00 pm to 5:00pm Sunday Afternoon. “Tying for the Salmon Fly Hatch (all stages).” This program is for new tiers and experienced tiers alike. Instructional demonstrations with big-screen TV, and all tying materials and hooks are free. A custom made fly tying room with perfect lighting and special teaching aides are provided. You get to keep all the flies you tie. Please bring your own tools and tying thread if you have them. If you don’t have them, we will provide them. Refreshments will be served.
